Welcome to the Pakenham Pumas website
Pakenham Pumas compete in the Dandenong Baseball Association, our season starts April 18th 2009 and finishes in August, yep... that's right, we play during winter!!! Whether you are new to the game of baseball, or are an experienced ball player we invite you to come down to our home ground at Toomuc Recreation Reserve (Behind the YMCA Stadium). Baseball is a great way for cricketers to maintain their skills during the off season and is one of the main reasons that our club was formed. However regardless of whether you are a cricketer or someone just looking for something active to do during the winter months, you'll be warmly welcomed by our members who will gladly help you learn or reacquaint yourself with the sport. We are more about enjoying the sport than driving everyone into the ground to achieve a grand final win.
U12 Training – Every Tuesday & Thursdays from 4pm
U/12 Junior trainings are Tuesday's and Thursday's from 4pm to 5pm. Tee Ball players are welcome to attend, but we will be concentrating on hitting pitched balls and fielding fast moving balls.
Senior Training – Every Thursdays from 5pm
New and Existing players are invited to come down to our diamonds for our training sessions on Thursdays from 5pm onwards. Club Coach Ash Hind will be running special sessions on Thursday nights to help those new to the game (or for those that need a refresher). If you want to play baseball this winter but cannot attend due to other commitments let Rob know on 0413 659 033 or via email.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM for the Pakenham Pumas Baseball Club was held on 2nd April 2009, at the Pakenham Junior Football Clubrooms. We are pleased to announce the following appointments; President - Rob Printz, Secretary - Chris Reid, Treasurer - Rebecca Donaldson, General Committee - Justin Mazurek, James Kinsella, Ash Hind. We are also pleased to announce that Ash Hind was appointed as Club Coach for 2009.
Assistance required for Social Functions and Fundraising ideas.
Whilst playing baseball is the main function of our club, there is a fair bit of socialising that goes on as well! We have our annual 4wd and camping trip during the Queen's Birthday weekend as well as fundraising events such as card nights, bbq's and trivia nights. The president might even get out his dj equipment for a night of music and karaoke if requested!
